"Summer is here, and it is absolutely gorgeous right now out on Tomales Bay. The hills have turned golden brown, but due to the late rains and the cool spring weather, the hillsides are verdant with foliage. Marine life is in high gear - Bat-Rays, Leopard Sharks, and the entire panoply of local marine life is abundant and commonly seen. It is a great pleasure and a privilege to be out amongst'em" - John G

Point Reyes History facts: Jan 6, 1603, Don Sebastian Vizcaino gave the name Punta do los Reyes to a peninsula he sailed past during an expedition. He was paying tribute to the three Kings (Reyes) who visited the infant Christ. The surrounding area was called Puerto de los Reyes.
60 Years earlier another explorer, Juan Rodrigues Cabrillo called the area Cabo de Pinos (Cape of Pines). Vizcaino's title for the bay did not last either. Today, that bay is Drake's Bay honoring the first European said to set foot in Marin County, Sir Francis Drake. |
Our Mission: Excellence in customer service, sharing our knowledge and love of the natural world. |
