Tomales Bay is home to Blue Waters Kayaking and one of the most rewarding kayaking destinations in California.

Over 400 species of birds have been recorded in the Point Reyes area, making it a premier bird-watching area. Tomales bay is also known for its variety of marine mammals, coastal wildlife and the heritage of the Coastal Miwok Indian. On these waters, you'll learn about our local history, migrating birds and other species that live both above and below the surface.

Over the past 18 years Blue Waters Kayaking has worked with thousands of young people on Tomales Bay. We have developed and specifically designed outdoor education programs which foster team building, leadership development, self-discovery, and individual growth

Our kayak camps are fully guided, motorboat supported, trips that focus on kayaking and leadership skills. We are the only shore-based operator on Tomales Bay. Our guides/instructors are supremely capable professionals with excellent safety and rescue credentials. Particiapants will learn natural history and environmental education as well as outdoor education skills. And have fun learning and practicing new skills!

Our facility in Marshall, CA and our use of motor-boat support sets us apart from any other kayak company on Tomales Bay. 24/7 communication and motorboat availability takes safety, our primary concern, to a higher level than other kayak companies can offer.

Daily kayaking and hiking activities will introduce young people to the bay's stunning beauty and the diversity of wildlife which call Tomales Bay home. As our kayaks glide across the water, a Harbor Seal may pop its head up and surprise us only a few feet away. Paddling along, an Osprey, Pelican or Kingfisher may dive for their lunch right before our eyes! After lunch on a secluded beach, we will hike up and visit the Tule Elk wandering the hills above the bay.

Skill-building in kayak self-rescue, navigation, and low-impact camping, and varied special programs such as poetry workshops, mask-making, adventure-based learning, and campfire story-telling will make this week an experience young people will remember for the rest of their lives.
