This is an opportunity to explore Tomales Bay on a guided kayaking tour, enjoy the scenic beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities, relax for a break on a remote beach with boat-in access only, and see the areas where oysters are actually grown in the wild. Your guide will explain the natural history of the area and the life cycle of the Pacific oysters, and why this area is so well suited for oyster cultivation. After the tour we will gather at our private beach in Inverness, sheltered from the wind, and enjoy a feast of locally grown Tomales Bay oysters, barbecued and raw, served with our own special sauces. Work up an appetite with a morning Paddle and then return to Blue Waters Kayaking in Inverness for a sumptuous feast featuring, of course, locally grown oysters, barbequed or raw, organic cheeses from Strauss Family Dairy, locally grown organic produce with fabulous Point Reyes Blue Cheese dips from Cowgirl Creamery, fresh brick oven-baked breads from Brick Maiden Bakery, and much more. Tomales Bay Oyster "Do-It Yourself" Rentals
In this economy, it seems that everyone in interested in keeping costs down. Accordingly, we at Blue Waters have developed some absolutely fabulous offerings at unbeatable prices. To start with: Oyster "Do-It Yourself" Rentals from our Inverness location. Tomales Bay Oyster Company is directly across the bay from our Inverness establishment - a short paddle away, and easily accessible by kayak at tides of 3 feet or greater. TBOC, by the way, is under new management. It was recently purchase by Bernal Brothers Oysters, the owners of the Marshall Store. They have greatly expanded the facilities there, with many new picnic tables and areas for seating and Bernal Brothers oysters are equal in quality to Hog Island (or better!).
"DO-IT-YOURSELF": Rent a kayak and paddle to TBOC for Oysters. This summer, there are many weekends when the tides are right to rent kayaks and paddle across from Inverness and enjoy a feast of locally grown oysters, barbecued and raw. TBOC has the following items for sale at their premises: oyster knife, gloves, charcoal, sauce.

Redwood City Tours
Redwood City, a center of high-tech industry, and the mid-point of the beautiful San Francisco Peninsula, is also home to the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay Wildlife Refuge, a marsh area covering 30,000 acres, with scenic views and abundant wildlife. Corkscrew Slough, which separates the Inner and Middle Bair Islands, is a major stop-over for migrating birds, and a resting place for harbor seals. By far the best way to experience this little jewel of nature is by kayak, with easy access from Redwood City Marina.
