As part of their program series, The River Guidess and Blue Waters Kayaking present ... January 28 - February 4, 2007 in Baja, Mexico:
"Maniko took me to places inside myself which had been hidden. She lovingly created the space for me to face some uncomfortable terrain, and through her enthusiasm, clarity, skill and love, I was able to move deeper, bringing more light and aliveness into my voice, my body and my Being. And her singing is divine. Thank you, Maniko!" — Deva Premal, Singer and Recording Artist |
The Process
First, we will sit silently and give ourselves over completely to the breath and to listening to all the sounds of life.
Then, we will gently open our bodies to the rhythm of the breath and the tides moving from the inside out, with the same sensitivity as our silent listening, but now we add the kinesthetic sensitivity of touch, feeling the air on our skin, the blood moving in our veins, the earth supporting us, the waves of life in the heart.
Maniko has been writing songs, performing and singing in a diverse array of venues for over 25 years. She has produced and recorded three CDs of her original material and worked on a variety of other recording projects. She has extensive professional and experiential training in expressive arts therapies, emotional release and integration facilitation, meditative disciplines as well as dance, movement, breath and resonance awareness as vehicles for bridging the worlds of spiritual development, personal integration and authentic self-expression. Along with private sessions, she performs and facilitates workshops on the Dimensions of Voice & Self-Expression, Creativity, Transformational & Ecstatic Singing, Songwriting and Meditation in Europe, Asia and the U.S. The schedule will be based on Blue Waters' 8-day Magdalena Bay Whale Camp / Sea of Cortez Eco-Resort tour (with 1st night in a Loreto hotel, next 2 nights at a comfortable whale-watching base camp on Magdalena Bay, and last 4 nights at an secluded Eco-Resort on the Sea of Cortez).
